Amenities
We encourage all of our guests to enjoy the amenities and beauty of this shining example of Stick Style construction, Eastlake influences and the pride of ownership that accompanies a home that has only had 3 families. We have discovered some unique amenities with which you can further enjoy your stay.
Our fine soaps are from Walter Rau. A German company “making the benefits of the speick plant available to the public”. This hardy little alpine plant, know also as the Mary Magdalene flower, was prized in ancient herbal history for it’s aromatic and healing properties. Uniquely both stimulating and calming, the speick care line is known for its harmonious balance and with pure plant extracts and gentle skin nutrients, speick is ideal for even the most sensitive skin. A morning or evening bath at the the Bohemian is like an alpine meadow walk high in the Austrian Alps. The hills are alive…right here.
We have also found the perfect towel -really- The Arcadian Towel by Christy of England. It is a cotton and Beachwood blend, known as Modal. One can hold it up inches away and have the water just wick…But these towels are so soft, you will want to snuggle dry. And take some home. We can arrange that too. Our microfiber robes are wonderful after your whirlpool so make sure to travel light and not pack yours ( plus you will want to have room for those towels!)
Of course we use luxury linens on the pillowtop mattresses. We’ve had several late breakfasts…a testimony to the comfort of these beautiful beds.
A full breakfast is served each mid morning highlighting German style sausage and bacon, cured locally, but with a flavor that might only be found in Germany. We enjoy complementing this with some regional favorites brought back from the old country. Hopple Popple, brotpudding, schmierkuchen, strudels and crisps are favorites. There is a lot of variety that goes on in this kitchen, which seems to result in some very festive (and full) plates. We have freshly brewed coffee and breads available for those who need an early start or just want to read the paper, or some fascinating history of New Ulm. We are a community rich with ambience and also a unique architectural style tied to the social and cultural roots here that will amaze even the most seasoned buffs. Guests observations and insights add the most amazing breakfast fare.
The Bohemian is available for meetings, seminars and catered luncheons . The glorious stained glass panels on the open staircase can make a fairytale wedding come true…please inquire for rates. “The Bohemian”…what does it mean to you?
